A caregiver in this position works7:30am to 5:00pm.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Receive and prepare patients for examination or treatmentunder the direction of the supervisor or physician.

• Performroutine screening tests.

• Assistphysicians with examinations and procedures.

• Document patient informationintheir medical record.

• Perform clerical, stocking,maintenanceand related duties.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• HighSchoolDiploma or GED

• One year of experience in an ophthalmic setting providing direct patient care ORadditionalformal Ophthalmology education/training

• Knowledge of medical terminology

Physical Requirements:

• Manual dexterity to operate office equipment and PC.
• Ability to lift and transport up to 25 pounds.
• May require extended periods of standing, walking or sitting.
• Visual acuity, including the ability to distinguish colors.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
