Job Description

Summary

We are seeking a Physician Billing Specialist I who is detail oriented, enjoys working as a team and independently in a fast paced environment as we handle billing for various departments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Physician Billing, which includes patients registration.

This position may require the ability to work overtime during month end.

Job Duties

  • Monitors and maintains workques (registrations, self-pay, medicaid found, customer service, and others).
  • Assists with missing surgery reports, reviews operative notes to determine if ready for processing, works closely with various departments to get missing information for billing, and looks up information in various insurance portals.
  • Performs data entry and assists with entering a large amount of charges from billing sheets into Epic system.
  • Resolves patient billing issues, follows up on commercial insurance, verifies Medicare and Medicaid is active monthly.
  • Resolves patient reconciliations reports.
  • Assists with helping departments meet monthly goals and deadlines.
  • Responds to department e-mails in a timely manner.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Six months of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of HIPAA.
  • Computer literacy.
