As a Physical Therapist, you will utilize various exercises to help patients increase strength, range of motion,enduranceand coordination.Because this position requires close interaction, you have the opportunity to build strong relationships with both patients and their families.Often, your patients are dealing with pain, so sensitivity is important.Ultimately, yourunconditional support and reassurance can drive them to work hard and regain their health.

A caregiver in this position worksMonday-Friday between the operating hours of7:00AM – 5:00PM, with flexibilityon start/end times based upon patient schedules.

Traveling to other Martin Health Outpatient sites within Martin and St. Lucie Counties will berequired, as needed.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Evaluate and conduct medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs.

• Interpret plans and supervise patient treatmentsin accordance withthephysicianreferral, ensuring the care, safety and wellbeing of the patient.

• Review and evaluate the patient's response orlack thereofto treatment.

• Make recommendations to the physicianrelativeto the needtocontinue or discontinue physical therapy treatment.

• Provideappropriate documentationof eachpatientvisit in accordance withdepartmental policies and procedures.

• Be responsible for the maintenance and care of all equipment and apparatus.

• Be responsible forthe economical use of supplies, linens and utilities.

• Provideappropriate billingfor each patient visitin accordance with departmental policies and procedures.

• Assist in on-the-job training of all ancillary personnel.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor’s Degree or certificate

• Graduate of a Physical Therapy Program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association or a related international degree

• Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT)

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)or the American Red Cross

• Internship experience

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Experience in an acute-care setting
