As a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), you will support a diverse patient population, with many managing various chronic respiratory disorders, critical illnesses and related symptoms. In this role, combining your skills with a compassionate attitude and outlook can make a difference in their lives and help promote a journey toward recovery or stability.
All the while, you will gain extensive hands-on experience, enhance your skills, earn incentive pay and explore the numerous professional development resources offered by Cleveland Clinic. At this location, you will also work with a close-knit group of tenured RRTs seeking to advance and excel to the top of their licensure, all within a smaller community-focused hospital setting.
A caregiver in this position works nights from 6:30PM - 7:00AM, with rotating weekend and holiday requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide assessment, treatment, care and evaluation to patients with respiratory insufficiencies.
Implement and monitor patient care plans.
Assess patients for the appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop, implement and monitor patient care plans.
Monitor, record and communicate patient condition.
Perform advanced respiratory care modalities, evaluate respiratory practice, administer medications/treatments and perform blood gas puncture and analysis.
Educate patients and families about the illness and provide information about community support groups and other programs.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care(NBRC)
Ohio Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) Board Licensure
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Bachelor’s Degree

Physical Requirements:
Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Normal hearing and vision or corrected to normal range.
May require sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time.
Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
