Job Description
Post-doctoral position available within a project aimed at assessing the microbiome, mobilome, and resistome associated with river waters, soils, and fish in an indigenous community located in Pará state, Brazil. The post-doctoral fellow will lead field and laboratory activities, including planning, collection, processing, cultivation, and microbiological and bioinformatics analyses.Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Microbiology or related fields, scientific production aligned with the project's theme, and at least one first-author article;
- Proven experience studying antimicrobial resistance using culture-dependent and independent approaches;
- Proven experience in planning and executing fieldwork, collecting, and processing environmental samples;
- Experience in phenotypic tests and specific bioinformatics tools for antimicrobial resistance analysis;
- Fluency in Portuguese as spoken in Brazil (essential for interaction with the Tembé indigenous community and local partners);
- Availability for travel and fieldwork in remote Amazonian regions.

This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationality. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 12,000.00 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent on items directly related to the research activity.
