What You Will Achieve
Working with a dynamic team of Logistics and Supply Chain experts, you will play a critical role in the activities involved with the efficient movement of material from receiving or the warehouse to production or any other department. Your role would include planning, developing material requirements, scheduling, and managing material movement with purchasing, warehouse, and Production or R&D.
As a Material Planner, you align material planning and procurement with clinical and commercial product supply needs and ensure material availability will meet production scheduling requirements. Your planning skills will help in preparing forecasts for resource requirements, and providing areas of improvement for products, processes,or services. Through your comprehensive knowledge of principles, concepts,and theories of the discipline, you will also work towards advancing new concepts and methodologies. You will use youi training and knowledge of supply chain and procurement to act as a business partner and work with stakeholders to define business needs, analyze inventory, manage master data, and place and manage orders with external suppliers.

How You Will Achieve It
Maintain proper inventory levels based on current inventory, historical usage, and forecast demand.
Responsible for regular supplier and contractual performance evaluations and periodic business review meetings with stakeholders and suppliers.
Acts as materials management and supply chain subject matter expert for site activities relating to new or improvements to supply processes and applications
Utilize any Material Requirements Planning system (MRP) or IT system that is in place and ensure that data is accurate and up to date and resolve any issues as required
Prepares purchase requisitions and send purchase orders to vendors.
Contacts suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, damaged goods, and other complications.
Works closely with MSAT, quality, and manufacturing teams to understand Pfizer’s material
needs, and develops an order strategy to minimize cost and reduce waste
Engage with Strategic Sourcing partners to identify and mitigate material supply risk while ensuring appropriate site inventory levels.
Liaise with quality control, quality assurance, and manufacturing to ensure availability of released materials in time for use in manufacturing
Manages cross-functional creation and maintenance of manufacturing bill of material.
Oversee the sourcing of new materials and facilitating completion of new part process by interfacing with QC and Compliance functions to ensure approval of material and supplier.
Coordinates with manufacturing and QA to resolve material issues (e.g., expedite, shortage, defect, etc.) and escalates potential material shortages before they affect production.
Collaborates with Manufacturing and Materials Management departments to ensure timely release and completion of production orders and transfer of required materials.
Ensures coordination with site QA for all supply chain related change control activities.
Creates and updates site standard operating procedures and metrics related to supply chain activities.
Participates on special projects (e.g., Oracle enhancement, facility modification) and fosters a continuous improvement culture to positively impact key performance metrics such as supplier quality, delivery, lead-time, and purchase price.
Qualifications
Must-Have
Applicant must have a High School Diploma (or Equivalent) and 8 years of relevant experience OR an associates degree with 6 years of experience OR a bachelors with at least 3
years of experience OR Masters with more than 1 year of experience.Industry experience within Production Planning/Scheduling, Materials Analysis, procurement and or Inventory Control.
Excellent analytical and project management skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, collaboration/teamwork, and adaptive and negotiation skills required.
Experience working with an enterprise level planning system (Oracle, SAP, etc.)
Working knowledge of GMP regulations is required.
Proficiency in Microsoft suite (ie. Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Visio, and MS Project.
Nice-to-Have
- APICS certification and LEAN/Sigma training preferred
