What Your Job Will Be Like:

We are seeking an Intern Year Round - Clerical Undergraduate

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Support New Employee Orientation (NEO)/Onboarding functions including weekly NEO presentation, logistics and execution.
  • Build new hire folders and prepare and extend virtual information to Sandia new hires
  • Work with Creative Services on preparation and ordering of NEO materials.
  • Collaborate with our CA and Remote orientation programs on program materials and information distributed to new hires during their first week.
  • Support Sandia’s Onboarding Buddy Program, ensuring tool entry/adjustments, forwarding manager reminders, and preparing weekly Buddy Sheets.
  • Support student intern and Sandia Orientation functions including intern hiring and on-roll administration processes.
  • Support virtual and onsite new employee information fairs, and NEO/Onboarding Labs-level events.
  • Work closely with other team members to ensure that HR transactions are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Create and maintain new employee files, data records in the PeopleSoft HR system.
  • Review and audit employment-related documentation.
  • Support student intern and recruiting program special projects and events, as needed.
  • Support student intern events, including logistics arrangements, briefings, event planning and execution

Qualifications We Require:

You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements:

  • Currently attending and enrolled full time in an accredited undergraduate program
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5/4.0
  • Ability to work up to 25 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer
  • U.S. citizenship

Qualifications We Desire:

  • Interest in the Human Resources or Business profession
  • Strong academic achievement, as evidenced by strong GPA and academic honors and recognition
  • Strong, professional written and verbal communication skills
  • General office skills including accurate filing and use of the MS Office Suite of tools (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Highly organized, accurate, and attention to detail
  • Able to follow complex work processes with accuracy and speed
  • Ability and willingness to work full time hours (40 per week) during summer or academic term breaks

Security Clearance:

NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:

If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.
