Lead Registered Nurse - Intake Nurse Navigation (REMOTE)

This role functions as an interdisciplinary team member that performs a wide range of services within the new patient services department. This role will work closely with the Intake Nurse Navigation supervisors and support them with team needs.

The successful candidate:

  • Must be able to work 100% remote; hours will vary between 7:00a - 6:30p Pacific Standard Time.

  • Responsible for coordination of nursing services in the intake nurse navigation realm such as staffing, troubleshooting daily activities, and patient care coordination.

  • Utilize independent judgment, critical thinking and have a good understanding of all oncology and non-oncology disease types.

  • Utilize and promote the use of the nursing process within the nurse navigation team, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation to assist nurses navigate new patients through the intake and evaluation process to new patient consultation visit at City of Hope.

  • The Nurse Navigator utilizes effective assessment skills and clinical knowledge to evaluate whether the patient’s condition makes them an appropriate candidate for travel and treatment.

  • Serve as a liaison between the patient and family, primary care physician, internal and external care providers, specialists, and referring providers as well as new patient services department supervisors and above.

  • Act in compliance with hospital site (ATL, CHI, CAL, PHX) and enterprise policies/procedures as well as the state specific Nurse Practice Act.

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

  • RN license in respective state, California RN license must be pursued upon hire

  • Bachelors in Nursing preferred

  • 3+ years of Oncology Nursing

  • BLS

  • Oncology Nurse Navigation or Oncology care management experience preferred

  • Nurse Navigation, OCN, Care Management Certified preferred

  • Experience with EPIC, Microsoft Suite, Salesforce preferred

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $31.89 - $52.55 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
