As a Clinical Engineering Technician I, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing medical equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides routine and as needed clinical engineering services (repair, maintenance, relocation, installation, etc.) for equipment as assigned.
  • Maintains documentation of equipment, inventory, service and repairs.
  • Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • High School Diploma / GED or equivalent required.•
  • Associate's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering Technology preferred. 
  • Associate’s Degree in Biomedical or Electrical Engineering or IT (Information Technology) technical field can substitute for the required experience.  

Certifications:

  • Certified Clinical Engineer (CCE) or Biomedical Engineering Technologist (BMET) preferred.

Complexity of Work:

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Work Experience:

  • Two years of relevant experience troubleshooting and maintaining medical equipment or equipment in a mechanical or electrical technician field required. •
  • Equivalent specialized or military training can substitute for the degree. 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to climb 8-foot ladders and work on overhead equipment. 
  • Ability to work in prone positions and in confined, darkened areas. 
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to use hand and power tools and work on small mechanical parts. 
  • Visual acuity sufficient to distinguish between colors used for wire color coding and read finely printed blueprints and schematics. 
  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
  • Ability to travel throughout the hospital system
  • ​Ability to move up to 50 pounds

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. 

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $20.77

Maximum hourly: $31.68

The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set, and education.
