Job Description
Job DescriptionThe position will involve activities towards various laboratory research projects in the support of senior staff.
Duties may include...
Routine molecular biology and microbiological techniques, cell culture, basic protein analyses such as Western blotting
Occasional assistance with animal maintenance, including but not limited to genotyping and preparation of specimens for 3D imaging using micro-computed tomography (microCT) and/or optical projection tomography (OPT).
Assist with documentation related to the RA activities, laboratory maintenance and organization.
The successful person will be trained in all procedures with which they are unfamiliar and provided opportunities to learn new techniques.
The applicant is expected to be able to demonstrate an understanding of basic chemical safety, be a good listener and communicator, follow instructions with precision and care, as well as exhibit a willingness to learn.
Some hands-on experience in a laboratory and/or professional setting is preferable.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in life sciences (demonstrable understanding of biology, chemistry, or anatomy)
Full Time/Part Time
Full-Time, benefit eligible, unranked/non-tenure track academic position.
Salary
Range is $41,600 to $43,680 a year ($20-$21 an hour). Salary is commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity.
