The School of Kinesiology at Ball State University invites applications for the position of Assistant/Associate/Senior Clinical Lecturer or Assistant/Associate/Full Teaching Professor of Athletic Training and Graduate Athletic Training Coordinator of Clinical Education. This full-time non-tenure-line position is available August 16, 2024, for the academic year with possible summer administration and teaching. Responsibilities include coordinating and supervising clinical education experiences, teaching athletic training courses, and providing university and professional service. This position reports to the Chair of the School of Kinesiology.

The annual salary range:  $50,000 to $69,000.

Minimum Experience:

  • Earned master’s degree in athletic training or related field from an accredited college or university by date of appointment.
  • Three years of experience as a BOC-certified athletic trainer.
  • Experience with administration or teaching in a Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) accredited athletic training program (professional or post-professional).

Preferred Experience:

  • Academic doctoral degree in athletic training and/or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience in Athletic Training Program Administration, such as Program Director or Coordinator of Clinical Education.
  • Experience with clinical education.
  • Experience and familiarity with CAATE standards and accreditation requirements.
  • Teaching or clinical expertise in therapeutic interventions and rehabilitation, and urgent and emergent care.
  • Effective administrative and communication skills.
  • Experience in preparation of self-study and/or substantive change for CAATE accreditation.
  • CAATE site visitor.
  • Experience with Typhon or another tracking system to monitor clinical education and student progression.
  • Licensed in the state of Indiana as an athletic trainer (or eligible for licensure)
  • NPI number
