Job Description
Summary
This is a position for a researcher with experience in cell culture, gene targeting, immunology and imaging (electron microscopy, scanning electro microscopy and crypoEM). The Staff Scientist is expected to work independently on establishing cell lines using CRISPR that will allow to study the regulation of telomerase. Will also be expected to work on cancer immunology-related questions by generating cell lines that can be modified to target cancer cells. The Staff Scientist will plan and execute the experiments in coordination with the PI and help other people in the team with their studies if needed.
Job Duties
- Read and educate himself/herself in the era of his/her research, develop a research plan, execute and analyze experiments independently and in coordination with the PI.
- Assist with experiments of other researchers in the lab when necessary.
- Help with general lab-related activities.
- Learn and perform specific experiments related to the project.
- Learn CRISPR-related methods and cancer immunology-related experimental approaches including isolation of immune cells, infection and transduction of T cells and other immune cells.
- Collaborate with other researchers outside of the lab to carry out studies that are outside of the research expertise.
- Participate in scientific meeting and present studies to the research community.
- Participate in any departmental activities if necessary and help with organizing those activities if necessary including symposia, lectures, poster presentation etc.
Minimum Qualifications
- Doctoral Degree. Experience may not be substituted in lieu of degree.
- Three years of post doctoral research experience.
