The Department of Orthopedic Surgery is seeking a Scheduling Specialist II. The candidate will be responsible for creating a positive patient experience by accurately and efficiently scheduling new and follow-up patient appointments.
Schedules, coordinates, and reschedules patient appointments.
Verifies order/referral is complete and matches scheduled procedure.
Completes and accurately enters patient demographic information into Epic.
Verifies insurance information of new and returning patients.
Answers the telephone and routes patient calls.
Maintains and updates current information on physician's schedules ensuring that patients are scheduled properly and appointments are confirmed.
Reviews incoming department scheduling faxes
Works the ready to schedule workqueue for all internal and/or external referrals.
May calls patients for appointments reminders.
Verifies insurance and pre-certification of insurance benefits.
Handles Epic In basket requests (through MyChart or from clinic staff).
High school diploma or GED.
One year of relevant experience.
