Job Description
The Division of Computing, Analytics and Mathematics is one of the four divisions in the School of Science and Engineering (SSE). Computing, Analytics and Mathematics (CAM) offers undergraduate degrees in Computer Science (ABET-accredited), Information Technology (ABET-accredited), and Mathematics, MS degrees in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, and Statistics, and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics/Statistics. These programs foster an open, collaborative research and education environment. Most recently, CAM has received a $3M NSF NRT grant and an $879K CDC grant.CAM is instrumental to the University of Missouri System's NextGen Data Science and Analytics Innovation Center (dSAIC), which supports university research across the state and plays a critical role in the region's health, business, and workforce development. dSAIC is based at UMKC and operates in partnership with the University of Missouri-Columbia.
The School of Science and Engineering (SSE) was established through a university initiative that called for the joining of all the computing, science, mathematics and engineering programs into a single academic unit. This was a bold move by the university to create multidisciplinary learning, academics, research and civic outreach for the benefit of all students, faculty, alumni and friends. This new structure creates opportunities for shared experiences, interdisciplinary course options, broader learning engagement and inspired new research endeavors. SSE recently added a new $40M ($23M building and $17M equipment), 58,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility to support multidisciplinary education, research, and economic development initiatives. Some of the key components of this new facility are AR/VR Lab, Innovation Studio & 3D Printing Lab, and High-Performance Computing Lab.
