Job Description
Summary
Baylor College of Medicine's Patient Business Services Team is seeking a Patient Insurance Specialist II.
Job Duties
- Investigates and verifies insurance coverage and eligibility for scheduled services.
- Creates and collects patient out of pocket estimates.
- Financially clear office visits that may involve minor procedures for specialist services.
- Contacts external PCP offices to initiate and secure insurance PCP referral approvals for Baylor specialists.
- Obtains insurance PCP referral approvals on behalf of Baylor PCP's.
- Answers Insurance Verification Helpline calls and emails to resolve insurance questions from patients and clinical departments.
- Corresponds with insurance companies to review denied services and provides recourse for payment.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- One year of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Multi-Specialty insurance verification experience.
- Pre-service verification experience.
