Job Responsibilities

The Data and Assessment Assistant is responsible for providing support with educational assessment, statistical analysis and accreditation requirements to the physician assistant program within the College of Health Sciences and Technologies at RIT. The primary focus of the position is on the collection, management, statistical analysis, interpretation and reporting of data to assist with continuous improvement efforts, program assessment, accreditation reports and accreditation site visits. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, survey creation, distribution and analysis; utilizing systems and procedures for processing and analyzing program, institutional and educational effectiveness data; managing data entry pipelines, developing and optimizing data management processes, preparing data sets, developing and maintaining dashboards, and preparing reports for administrators and accreditors. Position reports to the Coordinator of Assessment.

Major responsibilities:
Collaborate with data managers in multiple departments to retrieve, organize and manage data.

Perform statistical data analysis and prepare dashboards and other tabular and graphic data visualizations as needed for accreditation, administration or marketing purposes.
Interpret data and results of statistical analysis to inform high-level conclusions and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Manage program specific databases for accreditation and educational effectiveness needs.
Design and administer surveys and other evaluation instruments to support assessment and accreditation needs.
Support the continuous improvement process, the development of accreditation reports and site visit logistics, and work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and the Coordinator
Assist with assessment and accreditation workflow management.
Maintain and monitor compliance with continuous improvement schedule.
Manage ad-hoc data requests.

Required Qualifications

Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field
1-3 years of experience in a role with educational assessment and/or statistical analysis responsibilities; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
Skills:
Demonstrate experience performing and interpreting statistical analysis.
Demonstrate proficiency with statistical software; SPSS or equivalent.
Experience responding to requests for information, including creating queries in response to ad hoc requests
Demonstrate experience working with data sets and data structures
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to collaborate effectively with others
Ability to communicate effectively
High attention to detail and accuracy
Flexibility and willingness to assume new tasks and special projects

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree in related field
Experience with higher education program assessment
Accreditation experience
