Job Description

Position Description
The Jackson Laboratory at Harvard Medical School seeks a highly motivated individual to support research that involves RNA splicing and inflammation. This individual will independently perform and/or coordinate a wide range of laboratory research procedures and conduct a variety of complex support tasks for this project including conducting confocal microscopy, qPCR for inflammatory genes, cloning, virus production, flow cytometry, gene editing with CRISPR, transgenic mouse generation and husbandry, mouse organ isolation and processing, and data analysis including FLOWJO and ImageJ. The individual will also independently, report results to the supervisor or other lab personnel and present work at the laboratory level, and participate in all lab academic activities. This individual will also assist with the day-to-day operations of the lab.
Basic Qualifications
College background and 1+ years of experience.
Additional Qualifications and Skills
  • A bachelor's degree with an emphasis on biology, and experience in mouse work, microscopy, flow cytometry, and cell culture are critically preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills, adaptability, and communication skills.
Additional Information
This is a one-year term position from the date of hire, with the possibility of extension, contingent upon work performance and continued funding to support the position. 

Offer contingent upon successful completion of a pre-placement medical evaluation.

This is an in-person position based on our campus in Boston.
