Job Description
Position Highlights:
- Assists Pharmacists in the preparation and distribution of medications and pharmaceutical preparations.
- Keeps records and makes reports required by law and processes documents required by the hospital.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Will have at least 2 years of experience in a hospital pharmacy with unit-dose, computer and I.V. admixture experience.
- National certification as a Pharmacy Technician
- Has familiarity with drug names and competent math and typing skills
- Has successful completion of an accredited technician training program
Responsibilities:
- Dispenses medication orders for checking by a pharmacist.
- Prepares intravenous admixtures of non-chemotherapy and chemotherapy agents.
- Maintains inventory control and quality.
- Delivers medication, including controlled substances and department stock supplies (exchange carts) and maintains all necessary records.
Credentials and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Licensed as a Pharmacy Technician in the state of Florida required.
