Position Summary

  • The DEI Program Manager – Training & Dev will support the development and implementation of the DEI training in alignment with the System Director, DEI Training & Development. The DEI Program Manager – Training & Dev will work collaboratively with key stakeholders, both internal and external partners to drive the planning, development, implementation and analytics resulting from the DEI training initiatives.
  • In collaboration with the System Director, DEI Training & Dev, this position will assist in the design of the organization’s diversity, equity and inclusion training strategy to insure its implementation across the system and within each entity. This role will also engage with the LMS Administrator and project managers across the system to meet timelines and deliverables for the system needs to deliver training whether online, in-person or virtual instructor-led.
  • Required to identify and generate benchmark data, completion rates, training survey results, etc. and position that data in a meaningful way that supports DEI and training initiative targets and deliverables. Data presentation should be relevant for specific target audience. Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills required.
  • Support the preparation and development of presentation materials, ensure project documents are accurate, complete, current, and stored appropriately. Project management skills required.
  • May co-facilitate and co-lead DEI training sessions.
  • Provides support for metric and milestone identification and reporting for all training. Support development and maintenance of programs, program schedules, defining and developing key project plan tasks, milestones, tracking and execution against those activities.
  • Provide administrative tasks such as scheduling and facilitating meetings with numerous participants, prepare meetings materials, and record actions and changes to project plans. Additionally, provides tracking of and responding to action items.
  • Assist in preparation of project plans under direction of System Director DEI Training & Dev and/or System SVP, Chief DEI Officer; contribute to numerous project teams; help define project objectives and activities.
  • Work closely with communications and marketing to ensure there is an overarching and cohesive message across training, as well as, all DEI-related activities.
  • Communicate project status through status reporting and dashboards.
  • Participate and support to meet specified project dates deadlines and requirements.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Lead all project management aspects of assigned initiatives.
  • Administrates pre-project activities, project implementation, performance and reporting, including adherence to project scope, adherence to schedule and post-implementation review.
  • Monitors training activity and schedules, also changes to the schedules, inclusive of their causes and budget impact. Communicates project status and facilitates communication between all parties involved on project.
  • Defines and implements appropriate controls to ensure all benefits of trainings are realized, as well as post-implementation monitoring of relevant financial/performance metrics and service level agreements.
  • Develops, gathers, analyzes and reports on key metrics for training programs.
  • Organizes and leads meetings to ensure alignment among key stakeholders, develops work plans, executes on work plans, and achieves goals and objectives set by leadership.
  • Informs, communicates, and reports strategic initiative and/or program status on a regular basis to key DEI and institutional stakeholders.
  • Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to maintain certification/licensure, and/or keep abreast of latest trends in field of DEI.
  • Follows established City of Hope and department policies, procedures, objectives, performance improvement, attendance, safety, environmental, and infection control guidelines, including adherence to the workplace Code of Conduct and Compliance Plan. Practices a high level of integrity and honesty in maintaining confidentiality.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:

  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in organizational development, behavioral sciences, human resources, business management or education.
    • Experience may substitute for minimum education requirements.
  • Must have at least Five years of experience in a professional setting position (may include internship experience), preferably in a healthcare or research environment.

Preferred education experience and skills:

  • Master’s degree
  • DDI certification
  • Achieve Global Certification

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $40.70 - $63.08 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
