Job Description

Faculty Position:  Breast Pathologist

 

The Moffitt Cancer Center is seeking a Breast Pathologist to join the Department of Pathology. This is a full-time position and rank is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Candidates must have completed a fellowship in Breast Pathology and have at least two years of experience in Breast Pathology (post Fellowship). The ideal candidate must have a focus on diagnostic excellence performing at a standard commensurate with a major academic center. Licensure or eligibility for licensure in the State of Florida is required.

 

Candidates will primarily participate in breast subspecialty sign out, interact with physicians, medical students, residents, and fellows, and participate in Pathology Tumor Boards.  In addition to a division specific focus, the position may, depending on candidate’s experience include some responsibilities in other subspecialties, cytopathology and/or frozen sections. Successful applicants must be board certified in Anatomic Pathology. The successful candidate will have opportunities to join established basic research programs, with excellent opportunities for translational research in areas of interest.   

 

Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute (MCC) is a premier hospital with NCI/NIH Comprehensive Cancer Center designation and is a member of NCCN. MCC is committed to education through a wide range of residency and fellowship programs, including a Breast Pathology fellowship. MCC accessions approximately 6500 breast cases, 2600 resections (including lumpectomies and mastectomies), a high volume of review cases plus approximately 2400 prognostic/predictive markers tests per year. The applicant will join other subspecialized breast Pathologists.  The Cancer Center is comprised of a large ambulatory care facility, a 206-bed hospital, with a 36-bed blood and marrow transplant program, 20 state of the art operating suites, a 30 bed intensive care unit, a high volume screening program, and a basic science research facility.  The Moffitt Research Institute is comprised of approximately 160 Principal Investigators, 58 laboratories, and 306,000 square feet of research space.

 

Faculty of the Moffitt Cancer Center are eligible for academic appointments at the University of South Florida College of Medicine.
