What You Will Achieve

In your role, you will be joining a team that is responsible for overseeing and directing all supply chain management activities for multiple Contract Manufacturers (global scope) and products.

Your matrix team will be responsible for coordinating and supporting the smooth and efficient operation of Oncology and Rare Disease CMOs to ensure customers’ satisfaction and a cost-effective supply chain. Your work with quality leaders, EHS leaders, supply chain planners, technical Subject Matter Experts, procurement leaders and financial controllers will develop a strong team that ensures supply chain excellence for Pfizer.

Your advanced knowledge of the overall Oncology and Rare Disease Manufacturing spaces and comprehensive knowledge of other disciplines will enable you to lead complex projects across the division. Your experience in project management will be used while reviewing status of projects and budgets, managing schedules, and preparing status reports, developing resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals.

Your ability to develop and manage plans will ensure you achieve objectives, interpreting internal and external business challenges, and recommending best practices for improvements. While managing complex project environments, you will be able to anticipate and troubleshoot roadblocks and influence teams to achieve targets for the division.

Responsibilities

  • This position will be based in North America and will be responsible for managing relationships, operations, and performance of a portfolio of Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) located globally.
  • The position is responsible for managing multiple virtual site operating teams (VSOT’s) along with the indirect matrix management of the enabling function colleagues who sit on those teams.
  • Will lead by influencing and setting objectives for each of their VSOT’s and ensure all members are fully engaged to deliver the maximum benefits for the team, the CMO’s and External Supply in the spirit of partnership.
  • Communicates to ensure alignment within all functions across the VSOT and with other stakeholders globally. Partners with them across all time zones to achieve results.
  • Is responsible for managing/ tracking and reporting the performance of their VSOT’s and tacking appropriate action to correct any shortfalls in performance vs PGS value proposition of supply/cost/quality.
  • This position works closely with other Operations Leads, Supply Chain Planners, QA, Procurement, EHS, GTE, CMC, GSC, Finance and Customers at Business Units and Markets.
  • The Operations Lead develops and executes the implementation of strategic and tactical plans to secure timely supply of product and achieve cost targets as well as all other targets of the ES Balanced Scorecard.
  • Is responsible for managing the financial resources and delivering the financial plan of their VSOT.
  • Will lead the development and execution of manufacturing and supply plans to ensure the continuous short- and long-term supply of Oncology and Rare Disease products from CMOs.
  • Collaborate with EH&S to ensure CMO compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations and Pfizer requirements.
  • They collaborate with the CMO senior leadership teams to ensure any areas of conflict get resolved in a timely manner and escalate to senior management as appropriate if required.
  • The position requires approximately 30% travel of full week travel (primarily across North America)


Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Minimum BachelorsDegree and 10+ years of experience in External Supply, DP Manufacturing and Packaging Operations, DP Technology Services, Global Supply Chain or Procurement

  • Experience in projects that require collaborative approaches; strong analytical skills; ability to understand business issues and processes;

  • Knowledge and understanding of pharmaceutical DP manufacturing and packaging processes and regulatory requirements

  • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal interaction skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of contract manufacturing models and operations at a regional/global level is desirable.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated initiative, strategic thinking and creativity.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, influence/negotiation prowess and relationship building talent.

  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

Nice-to-Have

  • Masters degree and relevant pharmaceutical experience.

  • Strategic and tactical supply chain experience.

  • Experience and knowledge of financial operations in a production operation.

  • Experience in strategy development and implementation.

  • Experience with cGMP manufacturing and/or training requirements.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 30%)
  • May require working above normal business hours to accommodate meetings scheduled in other time zones
