ROLE SUMMARY

The Country Compliance Lead is responsible for partnering with local stakeholders to drive the local Compliance strategy, overall culture of Compliance and implementation of all elements of an effective compliance program at the market level. 

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implements a comprehensive local Compliance strategy in consultation with the Risk Counselor Lead (RCL)/Legal and partnership with key local business leaders to ensure the implementation of all elements of an effective compliance program.
  • Support the identification of emerging risks, develop appropriate action plans and ensure consistency in approach across market;
  • Coordinate cross-functional risk management forum to ensure alignment and implementation of holistic risk mitigation
  • Implements applicable internal policies, procedures; programs and practices related to Compliance;
  • Executes an effective training and communication program (in collaboration with other relevant functions) to ensure effective roll out of procedures and best practices
  • Assist in developing and driving culture of compliance and integrity by supporting compliance initiatives (e.g. Compliance Champions, Compliance Days) and coordinating in-market Compliance communications
  • Advise local management/business partners on compliance risks and mitigation opportunities in connection with key business initiatives upon RCL’s request
  • Identifies monitoring needs in line with local risk assessment and coordinates or executes on monitoring plans;
  • Partners with Corporate Audit, GRCC and Investigations to support oversight efforts, understand findings and develop appropriate remediation plans;
  • Supports business transactions Compliance due-diligence liaising with M&A Compliance;
  • Drives global and regional compliance and control projects as appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • University Degree in in Law, Finance, Business, Medicine, or Science with strong academic background
  • 6-8 years of professional experience in Compliance, Legal, Business Operations, Consulting and/or Program Management
  • Comprehensive understanding of the local regulatory environment (as it relates to compliance), relevant international and local Codes of Practice, guidelines, regulations and US FCPA, as well as applicable Pfizer policies and procedures (for internal candidates only)
  • Pharmaceutical/healthcare industry experience, and local experience with multinational companies are strongly preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of the principles, concepts and theories in healthcare compliance and comprehensive knowledge of principles and concepts in other areas of risk
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills in English and Tagalog preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem solving and strategic thinking skills; with ability to see the big picture as well as the detailed and specific relationships between business topics
  • Ability to summarize and articulate complex concepts clearly and efficiently
  • Ability to partner with key in-market stakeholders to support management of key risks
  • Ability to understand foreign cultures and sensibilities and to communicate effectively in a global environment
  • Self-directed and self-starter, with the ability to identify opportunities and associated solutions and work both autonomously and as part of a team to resolve complex matters
  • Demonstrated leadership and collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced, evolving work environment
  • High level of organization and efficiency with demonstrated attention to detail
