Job Description

Summary

The Division of Cardiothoracic Transplant Surgery is seeking a qualified Research Assistant I to assist with managing a robust cardiac database along with assisting with case reports, data clean up and support clinical research. This position will be under the direction of Principal Investigator. Selected candidate will provide research support/responsibilities in a hospital setting.
 

Job Duties

  • Performs responsible research work that requires planning, completing and occasionally supervising limited research projects including the Brockman Research Project, in accordance with general plans approved by supervisor. 
  • Consents patients and conduct patient follow up calls. 
  • Calculation of STS risk score for adult cardiac patients. 
  • Analyzes donor demographic profile for deceased donor project. 
  • Management and coordination of ex-vivo perfusion device. 
  • Builds and organize a digital surgical procedure library . 
  • Designs and conducts research experiments. 
  • Collects, compiles and analyzes data including clinical data 
  • Conducts literature searches and summarizes information in an appropriate format for studies. 
  • Documents and interprets results of experiments and reports to principal investigator.
  • May develop and modify computer programs. 
  • Selects and determines appropriate research procedures. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or a related field.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a related field.
