Job Description
Provide mechanical and electrical support to the installation and upgrade of laboratory equipment. Conduct electrical equipment inspections and serve as an electrical SME as required. Actively participate on ANL electrical safety committee. Responsibilities include assisting technical staff in designing and installing laboratory equipment and infrastructure. Independently manage workload across multiple projects and stakeholders.
Position Requirements
Required Knowledge & Skills:
Technical institute or AA degree & 7+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent
Knowledge of electronic and electrical equipment and testing tools
Knowledge of laboratory mechanical and electrical systems
Experienced in working independently and with excellent time management
Strong communication (written & oral) and interpersonal skills
Knowledge and understanding of National Electrical Codes (NEC)
This position will require an on-site presence at the Argonne campus in Lemont, Illinois five days per week

Preferred Knowledge & Skills:
Knowledge of Argonne's or other National Laboratory's ESH policies and procedures
Knowledge of State and Federal regulations, ESH policies/procedures, Argonne, and DOE requirements
Completion of Argonne National Laboratory's Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) 2 qualification or ability to obtain
