Job Description
Summary
The Xaq Pitkow lab is looking for a Research Technician II. The researcher will analyze the behavioral patterns of animals performing sophisticated tasks in virtual reality. They will also simulate artificial agents trained by reinforcement learning to perform these tasks. Finally, they will compare the behavior of the real animals to the behavior of the simulated agents that make a variety of assumptions, and will determine which agent’s assumptions are most compatible with biology.
Job Duties
- Performs quantitative research in neuroscience.
- Analyzes behavioral data.
- Performs simulations using machine learning.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
- No experience required.
