Summary

As a Research Compliance Senior Coordinator, you will provide research conflict of interest support to BCM staff and investigators through both the BRAIN and DOI systems. This position ensures that BCM staff and investigators are in compliance with Public Health Service (PHS) regulations as well as other federal regulations related to Financial Conflicts of Interests in Research and is designed to promote objectivity in research. 

Job Duties

  • Assists BCM Staff and Investigators with the navigation of the Disclosure of Outside Interest Tool for disclosures of Significant Financial Interests.
  • Maintains the Research Conflict of Interest general email inbox by answering investigator and staff emails.
  • Provides customer service for investigators in relation to disclosures of Significant Financial Interests.
  • Builds and maintains effective relationships with Investigators.
  • Processes assurance letters for funded research and provides the completed letters to the Sponsored Programs Office through BRAIN.
  • Coordinates with the Senior Associate for Research Compliance-RCOI for issues related to Significant Financial Interests. 
  • Prepares and review materials for the monthly Research Conflict of Interest meetings.
  • Prepares meeting minutes for the monthly Research Conflict of Interest meetings.
  • Prepares Management Plan letters post committee meetings.
  • Works closely with Investigators across the college to evaluate SFIs for conflict of interest and ensure that all research disclosures are completed properly to comply with regulatory requirements. 
  • Provides routine updates and reporting to the Senior Associate for Research Compliance – RCOI to ensure timely communication regarding the status of regulatory and/or important funding agency related issues. 
  • Acts as a liaison between the Research Conflict of Interest Committee and the investigators to ensure that assurance letters and management plan letters are issued, and that supplementary information is provided in a timely fashion as requested.
  • Interface with appropriate governmental agency on projects as identified by the Senior Associate for Research Compliance – RCOI.
  • Assists in the preparation of periodic reports for leadership.
  • Maintains accountability for ongoing professional growth and development.
     

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in either a business or scientific related field.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, Zoom and BRAIN are preferred. 
  • Requires highly effective communication skills.

  • Requires strong interpersonal skills. 
  • Requires strong critical thinking skills.
  • Highly motivated individual capable of independent action
