Position Summary
The Sr. Quality Assurance Analyst will lead and perform testing activities across multiple teams that provide clinical staff and patients with a safe, robust, well-integrated EHR. The position will lead and participate in testing activities across various domains and business areas, including Clinical, Infrastructure and Mobile applications as needed. They will participate in test planning and execution activities by developing test plans, test cases and managing defects and coordinate team and user activities throughout testing and system acceptance processes. The Sr. QA Analyst will be responsible and accountable for required test artifacts and deliverables that will enable delivery of products and systems that are reliable and operational in production. The position will work within the established IT framework for release, incident, problem, and change management. The Sr. QA Analyst will contribute to and assist in the implementation of the continuous improvement of testing methodology and practice

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute test plans and test cases for break/fixes, enhancements, and new features
  • Design functional, integrated, workflow, performance and user acceptance test scenarios applying knowledge of the Testing Strategy and Methodology
  • Learn assigned applications and associated user workflows with assistance from other team members, and apply this application and workflow knowledge to the development of test plans, test cases, and other deliverables
  • Document and report defects, coordinating defect remediation and re-testing efforts
  • Participate in design discussions, analysis of functional and workflow specifications, and development of test plans and test cases.
  • Assist the Quality Assurance Team with various projects ensuring test environments and devices are ready on-site, and coordinated with offshore team members
  • Documentation and escalation of major project risks as needed.
  • Provides appropriate test coordination and support during “go-live”
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 4 additional years of experience plus the minimum experience requirement may substitute for minimum education.
  • 5 – 8 years of demonstrated testing proficiency in IT Testing
  • 2+ years of experience in Health Care Testing
  • 2+ years of experience leading QA teams in a complex, integrated environment
  • Working knowledge of the SDLC and Testing Methodologies. Prior experience in participating and taking new projects and enhancements through the full testing lifecycle including functional, integrated, workflow, performance, and user acceptance testing phases. Prior experience representing QA in meetings and running defect review calls
  • Ability to manage multiple, concurrent testing initiatives
  • Prior experience working with Test and Defect Management tools

Preferred education experience and skills:

  • 2+ years of clinical experience in hospital organizations or similar environment, working with clinical or administrative applications
  • Patient care experience and/or certifications with a strong understanding of inpatient and ambulatory workflows
  • Configuration and/or training experience is a plus
  • Experience using automated testing tools is a plus
  • Experience with EMRs, especially EPIC is a plus
  • Experience with Mobile and Infrastructure (VDI, Patching, OS Upgrade) Testing is a plus
  • 5+ years of experience in Health Care Testing
