Baylor College of Medicine and Department Summary:

Faculty Clinician is a non-ranked, non-tenure track/non-tenured appointment that applies to Full-time or Part-time physicians and other healthcare providers who are employed by Baylor College of Medicine and practice at an affiliated healthcare location (such as Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Group).

Summary

Work with our Anesthesiology services team to provide high-quality, evidence-based anesthesia and pain care services at all acuity levels, for all patients, and for several different reasons in a variety of settings.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Administers all forms of anesthesia including inhaled, intravenous, neuraxial, and regional, for surgical or medical procedures.
  • Assesses and evaluates patients prior to the administration of anesthesia in order to formulate anesthetic plan.
  • Inserts and uses invasive and noninvasive monitors, as indicated.
  • Responds to emergency/code situations to provide airway management.
  • Documents anesthetic information and patient condition.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Certification by the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA).

Experience: None required.

Degree: Master of Science

Certification:

  • Required: Current Certification by the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA)
  • Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification. ACLS/PALS card required.
