Job Description

Summary

The Echeverria laboratory studies molecular evolution of triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) therapy resistance and metastasis. The focus of the lab is to delineate the metabolic and molecular evolution of TNBC using state-of-the art patient-derived xenograft mouse models and in vitro mouse- and patient-derived organoids. The lab utilizes functional genomics approaches, single-cell technologies, multiplexed tissue imaging, and metabolomics with the ultimate goal of combating tumor evolution to improve the lives of women living with TNBC.

We are seeking highly self-motivated individuals to provide research support, technical assistance, and lab organization. The laboratory’s work involves cell lines and state-of-the-art mouse models. Projects include dissection of the molecular underpinnings tumor cell-microenvironment interactions as they pertain to therapy resistance and metabolic adaptations of therapy-resistant tumor cells, as well as single cell analyses of primary and metastatic TNBCs.

The individual should enjoy being highly organized, detail oriented, and working with an excellent laboratory team. The lab provides an interactive, collaborative, and stimulating environment ideal for those who are passionate about science and are looking for learning opportunities. The candidate will be involved in collaborative science projects with other laboratories. The position has ample opportunity for growth. The Echeverria lab is in its third year since opening, so projects and scientific opportunities are rapidly expanding.
