Job DescriptionJob Description Summary:
The newly established Computational Genomics Lab at Department of Pathology, University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, is accepting applications for a Research Assistant position in Computational Biology/Bioinformatics. The candidate will work on various projects in computational genomics, comparative, and evolutionary genomics.
Education: Bachelors degree, plus 2 years of work experience; OR Masters degree in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field
Skills: Strong command over Linux operating system and programming skills in R are required.

Skills: Bioinformatics training is preferred but not essential.
Job Duties Outlined:
Use programming knowledge to help shape the scientific and computational infrastructure of the division
Contribute to applications for research grants

Aid in training other research assistants, graduate students, and other junior colleagues
