Job Description

The Information Security Lead will oversee the operational cybersecurity, information security implementation, and compliance within the CELS computing environment. You will also be responsible for overseeing and managing other Cybersecurity employees in the group.

 

In this role, you will be a member of CELS Systems, which is within the Computing, Environment, and Life Sciences (CELS) Directorate.

  

Specific duties include:

  • Acting as lead Cybersecurity and Information Assurance representative for the directorate, and as the primary liaison between CELS and the Argonne Cyber Security Program Office (CSPO).
  • Leading the cybersecurity aspects of the implementation of secure computing enclaves dealing with sensitive data including Protected Health Information (PHI), Unclassified Controlled Nuclear Information (UCNI), Personally Identifiable Information (PII), and other Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
  • Monitoring relevant information sources, identifying and deploying threat counter measures, electronic data protection, risk assessments, program coordination and implementation, and testing and distribution of security tools.
  • Assisting in implementing and deploying cyber security solutions across CELS computing systems.

Position Requirements

  • Experience with computer security toolkits and communities including their capabilities and deficiencies
  • Identification and understanding of cyber security threats and remediation
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to apply both in administrative and technical contexts
  • Maintain a service-oriented approach to information security
  • Demonstrated knowledge of security architecture, practices, and techniques
  • Knowledge of network architectures, technologies, and administration
  • Knowledge of intrusion detection technologies and security risk identification
  • Knowledge of network programming concepts and languages
  • Skill in administration of operating systems
  • Knowledge of software development and deployment
  • Awareness of project management principles and methodologies
  • US Citizenship required in order to obtain and maintain "Q" clearance
  • PT4: Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of experience, or equivalent
