The Department of Biological and Chemical Sciences at the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) has undergraduate programs in Biology, Chemistry, and Biotechnology at the New York City and Long Island campuses. This position will be based at the NYC campus. NYIT emphasizes interdisciplinary scholarship, research, and teaching. Department faculty research interests are diverse, including medicinal and organic chemistry, neuroscience, cell and molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, microbiology, computational chemistry, bioinformatics, and analytical chemistry.

The Department of Biological and Chemical Sciences at NYIT seeks outstanding applicants for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level to develop a chemistry research program and to teach organic chemistry lecture and lab courses, as well as more advanced chemistry courses.

A relevant PhD or equivalent terminal degree, postdoctoral experience, and a record of scholarly publications and productivity. Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to undergraduate education, and a dedication to innovative and effective teaching that prepares a diverse student body for future success. Candidates should also exhibit a strong potential to attract external funding for their research.
