Credentialing Coordinator - (FT Remote Position)

Responsibilities:

The Credentialing Coordinator independently leads the credentialing and the privileging of each individual practitioners applying for Medical Staff Appointment and Membership and ensures compliance with Medical Staff Bylaws, The Joint Commission (TJC) Medical Staff standards, National Commission on Quality Assurance (NCQA) standards, State regulations and Conditions of Medicare Standards (CMS) and Utilization Review Accreditation Commission (URAC) as applicable and related to medical staff credentialing and privileging. The coordinator conducts an in-depth review and analysis of the provider's application, qualifications, training, experience and accompanying documentation. The coordinator leads all duties related to the Managed Care credentialing/re-credentialing process and Health Plan enrollment.

Experience:

  • Three years’ experience as a Medical Staff Professional in a healthcare setting and/or experience in managed care credentialing. Knowledge of credentialing, privileging, accreditation processes and standards.
  • Ability to analyze and use independent judgement to determine a course of action; manage and impart confidential information.
  • Works independently, is self-directed and effective in a high paced team environment. Ability to organize, prioritize, coordinate and follow through on multiple activities and tasks in a timely manner.
  • Exceptional communication and customer relation skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook), credentialing software, and conducting research using various internet resources and websites. Database management skills, including querying, reporting and document generation.

  • Chief Medical Officer, Service Chiefs, Program Leaders, Department Administrators, President of the Medical Staff, Advanced Practice Professionals, Members of the Medical Staff, Hospital Leadership and Staff

Education:

  • Required: Associates Degree
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree
  • *Other relevant experience in credentialing as a medical staff services professional or in a managed care organization will be considered on a year-to-year basis in lieu of the required degree.

  • CPCS
