REMOTE position. - in the following states: AL, AZ, AK, GA, FL, IA, IN, IO, KS, LA, MS, MO, MT, NC, OH, OK, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WY


Position Highlights:

This position is responsible for reviewing clinical research trials to determine if they are qualified clinical trials pursuant to Medicare's National Coverage Determination (NCD) 310.1. It oversees research billing through conducting Coverage Analyses (CA) which ensures consistent application of Medicare rules, local coverage decisions, and NCCN guidelines across qualified clinical trials. It also harmonizes the clinical trial protocol, budget, contract, and informed consent to ensure that they are all consistent when it comes to billable items and language that concerns patient billing. Will also liaison with other patient billing departments to assist with research patient financial issues. This position will work independently and collaboratively on studies, special projects and initiatives.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Preferred – experience in medical coding or billing.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, etc. (preferred - advanced experience in Excel/V-Lookups, Pivot Tables, Index, etc. )

Responsibilities:  

  • Determining if a clinical trial is a qualifying clinical trial according to CMS guidelines.   
  • Conducting Coverage Analysis.
  • Research Document Concordance Review.
  • Collaborate with research teams, financial teams and clinical trials sponsors
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Credentials and Qualifications:

·     Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Healthcare, or research related field required.

·     A minimum of one year of experience in clinical research (industry/pharmaceutical and/or federal grants), billing compliance, research contract management, research administration, or budget development.
