Responsibilities
The Farris lab is seeking an entry level Staff Scientist (within 5 years of an advanced degree) to investigate aberrant immunologic responses in the setting of systemic bacterial infections and in the setting of the systemic rheumatic disease Sjögren’s syndrome. Initial projects include human macrophage response to bacterial peptidoglycan and application of spatial proteomic technology to fixed human biopsy tissue sections. The candidate will interact with PhD students, technicians, and other scientists working in the areas of macrophage biology, Sjögren’s syndrome and other rheumatic and autoimmune diseases within the Arthritis and Clinical Immunology Program at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation.


Qualifications
Ph.D., M.D., M.D./Ph.D., or DVM/Ph.D.First-author publication(s) in internationally recognized journals in the fields of immunology, pathology and/ or molecular biology. Experience in primary cell culture, in vitro cellular assays, molecular biology approaches, immunohistochemistry and microscopy. Motivation and ability to keep abreast of the current literature as well as his/her own experiments. Willingness to interact with study volunteers/participants. Willingness to interact with other members of the laboratory in a way that raises the scientific excellence of the whole group.
