Job Description


Job Purpose

Responsible for the management of patients with pediatric acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions under the direct supervision of several pediatric orthopedic surgeons.

Job Duties

Essential job functions and duties include, but are not limited to: 

  • Evaluation of new and follow-up patients, including history and physical exams, diagnosis and recommendations for treatment. 
  • Casting and Splinting. Interpretation of X-rays and MRI films within the scope of practice.
  • Post-operative care including wound care, dressing changes, brace prescription and evaluation, reviewing operative photographs and procedures.
  • Call coverage.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education Required: Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies. NOTE: Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant Studies accepted based on terminal degree requirements at time of graduation.
  • Experience Required: None required.
  • Certification/Licenses/Registration: Current license as a Physician Assistant by the State of Texas Physician Assistant Board. Specialty certification as required by department. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
