Job Description

Summary

The section of Gastroenterology & Hepatology is looking to hire a Research Coordinator I to coordinate day to day operations of Professor Antone Opekun's research protocols. The ideal candidate will be responsible for working with patients directly, including screening and determining study eligibility. Additional duties include maintaining and initiating IRB protocols, clinical study execution, medical record review, literature review, survey administration, data entry, and basic data analysis. The ideal candidate must be organized, able to multitask, work with patients, and be able to problem solve. The position is part-time but open to increasing FTE in the future dependent on growth of trials.

Job Duties

  • Interviews, screen and recruits patients for various studies in GI medicine; explains process and procedures to educate participant regarding the research study;
  • Collects patient information; processes documents and enters information into a database;
  • Manage database and present data to PI weekly;
  • Maintains records and regulatory documents and records for research studies;
  • Retrieves and submits test results to appropriate party;
  • Corresponds with patient throughout study; Orders supplies and equipment;
  • Process blood specimens; and Performs other job duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Three years of relevant experience.
