Position Summary

A City of Hope Production Team/Exterior Management Associate (PTEM) supports the disruption planning and exterior management efforts on the Duarte campus. This role requires support of a five-star campus experience via landscaping, cleanliness, general appearance, and occasional customer service. This position assists with the daily operations to minimize gaps in high end aesthetics and campus disruption will require wayfinding assistance, direction provision, and coordination of transportation for families, patients, and visitors to City of Hope locations. The production team is the liaison between the external environment and perceived patient/staff/visitor experience at City of Hope. This team delivers services with a high level of engagement, interpersonal skills, safety acuity, and City of Hope values. This role is the front line in providing a campus-wide five-star experience

Key Responsibilities include:

Follows direction and training from Supervisor on daily, weekly, monthly, and special taskings

Tasks may include:

  • Picking up trash/debris (on foot) across campus
  • Planting flowers, trees, or other landscaping items
  • Clearing weeds/leaves/debris from exterior locations
  • Spraying weeds across campus (with proper protective gear)
  • Watering/fertilizing landscaping
  • Pruning/edging/manicuring landscaping
  • Cleaning exterior furniture/monuments/signage
  • Moving rocks/mulch/plant material from one location to another
  • Placing rocks/mulch/plant material
  • Collaborating with departments to ensure campus grounds are highly cared for/monitored
  • Placing semi-permeant and/or temporary signage
  • Supporting shifts to parking and/or construction needs with barriers, directional assistance, and other aid as required
  • Supporting event set-up and teardown to include gala-level requirements
  • Monitor landscape watering, repair waterline, dripline issues as necessary to ensure appropriate water conservation
  • Provides feedback on execution of task to ensure timely corrections, proper implementation, and effective execution of assigned duties
  • Communicates status of projects, obstacles observed, and areas of interest to leadership
  • Requests additional training/guidance to execute assigned tasks proactively
  • Provides suggestions, recommendations, and innovative concepts for campus beautification
  • Safety and Risk Management: 
  • Corrects and/or reports safety, maintenance, and cleaning needs
  • Follows site specific safety and security procedures
  • Practices preventative safety procedures as set forth by City of Hope, including safe lifting techniques
  • Uses only equipment trained to use and operates all equipment in a safe manner
  • Is knowledgeable of and follows City of Hope disaster codes and response plans
  • Systems and Standards:
  • Completes all tasks in a timely manner as instructed by Supervisor or above
  • Treats guests, patients, and colleagues with courtesy, respect, and dignity
  •  Follows all appearance standards as set forth by City of Hope, including complete approved and clean uniform
  • Follows all attendance standards as set forth by City of Hope
  • Executes all terms and conditions as set forth in the City of Hope Code of Conduct and other policies and procedures
  • Utilizes City of Hope logs as specified
  • Completes tasks as outlined within the standard operating procedures
  • Maintains clean and neat wo

Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three years of experience in a landscaping, events staffing, or related field role with at least one year of customer-facing experience

Required Certification/Licensure:

  • Current CA Driver’s License

Preferred education experience and skills:

  • Associate Degree

Additional Information:
