Our goal at Prenome is to prevent maternal mortality and pregnancy related complications through personalized medicine that combines DNA sequencing and socioeconomic information with specialized health interventions. We are an Illumina-backed startup focused on ending pregnancy complications and maternal mortality. Our genetic screens and tests provide actionable information, empowering women and their families to make critical and timely healthcare decisions, whether they're thinking about starting a family or are already pregnant. We strive to put patients first, clinicians in control and costs in their place. We seek to transform the execution of complex genetic testing and screening through our three high-value products that include end-to-end workflow features making for seamless delivery of Prenome’s products to patients.

We are seeking a talented research scientist to join our R&D team working on Prenome’s large scale whole genome sequencing effort. The ideal candidate has a strong interest in women’s health and personalized medicine, thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and excels working as part of a diverse, multidisciplinary team. Previous experience in Illumina NGS and library preparation is desired.

● This position is heavily laboratory based
● Handle and track sample accessioning/processing
● DNA Isolation from saliva samples
● NGS Library preparation
● Following SOPs and participating in new protocol development
● Recording keeping using an ELN

What You Will Do:
● Partner closely with cross functional roles to plan, execute, and present research that will drive experimental changes and ensure product excellence
● Handle and track sample accessioning/processing
● Perform DNA Isolation from saliva samples collected for clinical study research
● NGS Library preparation and sequencing using illumina chemistry and platforms
● Follow SOPs, identify process improvement opportunities, and participate in new protocol development
● Generate data and ensure high-quality ELN documentation for regulatory submissions and publications
● Work closely with Principal Data Scientist on polygenic risk score pipeline improvement
● Analyze quantitative and qualitative data, create written and visual reports (including creating graphs, highlight videos, screen shots, slide decks, etc.)

What You Will Bring:

● PhD degree in biology, genetics, molecular biology, cell biology, or equivalent
● 1+ years’ experience in NGS library preparation, sequencing, and analysis
● Impeccable attention to detail and meticulous documentation of experiments and results
● Excellent communication, organization, interpersonal, and scientific writing skills
● Ability to work as part of a team within a highly collaborative environment
● Ability to analyze and solve basic issues
● Ability to prioritize tasks with a high emphasis on quality
● Commitment to rigor in scientific research
