Job DescriptionResearch Description: The Pehar laboratory is recruiting a postdoctoral fellow highly motivated to carry out research focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms linking aging to neurodegeneration with emphasis in the study of glia-neuron interaction. The laboratory has a multidisciplinary approach on in vitro and in vivo mouse models. The position requires expertise in the production/purification of recombinant proteins, structural biology and mammalian cell culture. The laboratory is located at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has access to cutting-edge research facilities.
Degree and area of specialization: A PhD in neuroscience, biochemistry, cellular and molecular biology or related biomedical field. MD candidates with strong commitment to basic science are also encouraged to apply.
Requirements: Applicants should have strong laboratory skills. Previous expertise in in the production/purification of recombinant proteins, structural biology and mammalian cell culture is essential. Expertise with biochemistry and molecular biology techniques is also necessary. Applicants must be fluent in spoken and written English. The successful candidate will develop both independent and collaborative experiments in one or more areas.
Salary: Commensurate with experience
