Job Description

We are seeking an Undergraduate Year-Round Intern to provide administrative support for the Sandia National Laboratories new Postdoc Program office and Faculty Loan program. We seek a professional, motivated team player to join our team. The selected student will support the Postdoc Program and Faculty Loan teams in an organizational support role. On any given day, you may be called on to: + Perform routine clerical and/or computer operation activities including data entry and chart preparation + Record and maintain information in databases or other filing systems and verify completeness and correctness against established standards + Assemble reports and presentations and distribute various types of material according to established procedures + Provide routine information to requestors + Coordinate appointments, schedules, events, and activities related to program objectives + Review and track post-doctoral research job postings and dispositions + Review and track faculty loan participants and documents + Track Sandia post-doctoral researcher alumni through their early careers

Required:
You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements: + Currently attending and enrolled full time in an accredited undergraduate program + Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5/4.0 + Ability to work up to 25 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer + U.S. citizenship

Qualifications We Desire: + Completed at least 40 academic credit hours or equivalent + Good organization skills and multitasking capabilities + Good oral and written communication skills + Dependability, initiative, and enthusiasm + Experience with Microsoft Office with strong proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint + An interest in STEM applications and programs

Department Description:

Sandia National Laboratories has created a new Postdoc Program office to nurture the next generation of researchers in science and engineering by providing them with outstanding mentored research traineeships, professional development opportunities, and overall positive experiences in an inclusive and enabling research environment. The program goals include infusing Sandia’s research enterprise with new ideas and new energy from early-career researchers and preparing post-doctoral researchers for their next career step. Sandia is also implementing a new Faculty Loan program to support Sandia-university joint faculty appointments. These programs are part of the Chief Research Office Research and Academic Partnerships Programs group (1970).
